Minnesota Methane Taps IEC for Transformer Study

ALBANY, NY, September 1, 2007 – IEC Corporation has been chosen to analyze a transformer installed at Minnesota Methane’s Albany Energy at the Rapp Road Landfill facility in Albany, New York, and provide Minnesota Methane with a summary report of its findings.

IEC will determine the following: (1) Is the existing transformer capable of carrying the load of a third Caterpillar G3516 generator set? (2) What is the maximum capability of the existing transformer, or what modifications can be made to the transformer so that it is capable of carrying the load of the third generator set? (3) What are the options available and the approximate costs for any upgrades needed?
