IEC Receives Unanimous Contract Approval from LADWP Board of Commissioners
Los Angeles, Calif., October 16, 2007 – The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) Board of Water and Power Commissioners unanimously voted to award IEC Corporation with a three year contract to provide construction management services for the Pine Tree Wind Project located near Tehachapi, California.
IEC will assist the Department in managing site construction work for the 120 MW wind project and its associated 230 kV transmission line installation. Acting in the role of construction manager, IEC will analyze project schedules and progress, coordinate site contractors, implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control programs, provide inspection and document control services, and evaluate whether Contractor and Department employees are following environmental and regulatory requirements.
The award for providing Construction Management services is in addition to IEC’s previous Owner’s Engineering work to develop the Balance of Plant Request for Proposal for the Pine Tree Wind Project.
The project will assist LADWP in achieving its goals of providing power from renewable energy sources and to help meet demands for electricity in the Southern California region. The wind farm will consist of eighty (80) GE 1.5 MW wind turbines and is situated between Pine Tree and Jawbone Canyons in Kern County, California.
