IEC Completes New Site Layouts for Modesto Irrigation District's New Power Facility

Sacramento, Calif., March 7, 2008 – IEC provided site layout support for a proposed 49 MW reciprocating engine peaker plant using six Wartsila engines (8 MW each) for the Modesto Irrigation District (MID). Preliminary engineering included site layouts for four separate locations/parcels that were under consideration. Layouts included the Wartsila engines, buildings, and all balance of plant equipment. In addition, two elevation views were created for each option (total of 8 elevation views). The design considered future road realignments by the City of Modesto, constructability access, operational and maintenance access, vendor layout requirements, and visual impacts. IEC developed and delivered these drawings on a quick turn around schedule to meet District deadlines.
