IEC to Continue Supporting the Distribution Services Department at SMUD with Award of New Contract

Sacramento, Calif., March 21, 2008 – With the award of a new contract, IEC will continue its support of the Distribution Services Department at the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD). The contract calls for IEC to provide staff augmentation and to perform engineering services for the Distribution Services Department on an as-needed basis. SMUD has extensive transmission and distribution and generation facilities serving a peak customer load of approximately 3,300 MW, mainly within Sacramento County. The Distribution Services Business Unit is responsible for design, construction, operation, and maintenance of these facilities, including the engineering work associated with all modifications, upgrades, replacements, planning, problem solving, and analysis. IEC has supported this Department in previous contracts and looks forward to providing similar support over the next few years.
