LADWP Taps IEC to Provide Solar Energy Development Support

Los Angeles, Calif., September 8, 2009 – The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) has chosen IEC Corporation to provide solar energy development support and training services. Specifically, IEC will be providing services related to PV development, assessments, and inspection. LADWP is implementing a program on or near properties owned by the City of Los Angeles to install solar photovoltaic systems for renewable energy generation. Under this program, LADWP wants to identify, develop, and turn over properties (on rooftops, open spaces, and parking lots) to its Engineering Group for engineering design and construction. This solar program will increase LADWP's electricity resource from solar generation to meet its goal of 400 MW of solar energy being produced by 2014. IEC will provide feasibility assessments, preliminary designs, acquisition of permits and documentation, and property mapping. A final Engineering Design Package of each property will be delivered to the LADWP Solar Energy Development Group for further development.
