IEC Providing Wind Data Monitoring and Reporting for SMUD

Sacramento, Calif., January 22, 2010 – IEC is currently monitoring the wind data transmitted from four meteorological (MET) towers to investigate potential instrumentation errors, make recommendations on corrective actions, and provide four quarterly wind resource reports for the year. IEC is tasked with reviewing daily data transmissions from each MET tower and investigating any instrumentation errors. If any errors are found, IEC will research potential causes and report to SMUD on the causes and recommended corrective actions. In the event a site visit is required by the MET tower maintenance personnel to fix faulty data acquisition equipment, IEC will work directly with the maintenance crew to develop a plan of action for the site visit, validate corrective measures after implementation, and report progress and final outcomes to SMUD. IEC will also be developing four quarterly resource reports for 2010 data.
