IEC Earns SMUD Biomass Technical Services Contract

Sacramento, Calif., April 27, 2007 – The Sacramento Municipal Utility District has awarded its Biomass and Advanced Renewables contract to IEC Corporation. To support this contract, IEC will perform technical and environmental analyses for potential biomass projects.

The activities and analyses for this project will include technical and economic assistance in evaluating and/or demonstrating a variety of biomass technologies, ranging from dairy and municipal solid waste technologies to local wood and food waste technologies. The scope of work also includes supporting SMUD in advocating for the use of biomass projects.
