Arc Flash Hazard Analysis Reports (SCLA and Foxborough)

IEC performed an arc flash hazard risk analysis for SCLA and Foxborough distribution systems.

CLIENT:

VICTORVILLE MUNICIPAL UTILITIES SERVICES

The City of Victorville owns and operates two 12kV electrical distribution systems for the Southern California Logistics Airport (SCLA) and the Foxborough Industrial Park. IEC performed an arc flash hazard risk analysis for each of the distribution system. IEC’s analysis of each distribution system used the current ANSI, IEEE 1584, NEC, NFPA 70E, and CAL/OSHA standards. IEC developed an electrical model of the existing system using ETAP modeling software. We evaluated existing equipment capacities, identified any under-rated equipment, and prepared a protection coordination report. The report recommended protection setting modifications, calculated arc flash intensities and shock protection boundaries, and determined proper PPE ratings. The resulting Arc Flash Hazard Analysis Report included code requirements, assumptions, input values, protection coordination curves, output tables, and equipment labels.
