IEC was contracted as the Engineering and Construction Contractor on an emergency basis to support the fast pace resource adequacy (RA) conversion schedule. In order to meet the Client’s contract commitment and schedule with PG&E, IEC was able to streamline and condense the project tasks and schedule from 6 months to 1.5 months.
The scope of work included detailed engineering, installation of approved CAISO metering and remote intelligent gateway telemetry, installation of new fogging system to enhance power output, modification of HRSG and operating training.
Upon completion of the RA conversion project, the client was able to proceed with the new contract with PG&E for RA (capacity only), and the plant energy was sold in day ahead market in accordance with CAISO market rules. The client recognized the success of this project was based on IEC’s perseverance, extensive power plant experience, exceptional project management skills, and team commitment.
