The Modesto Irrigation District identified a source of good-quality wastewater generated by the Foster Farms Dairy, a milk-processing facility located less than a mile from MID’s Power Plant. This water would potentially be suitable to replace raw water use at the Woodland Generation Station (WGS). IEC prepared a preliminary analysis of the feasibility of using this water to replace some of the WGS water demands. The report included a complete water quality analysis, potential uses within the power plant and its impact on the existing water quality. The report included a final recommendation and a cost benefit analysis.
