IEC provided conceptual engineering for Pilkington’s waste heat recovery project. Pilkington’s Lathrop facility manufactures flat glass products and, in the process, releases a substantial amount of thermal energy in the form of high temperature flue gas from the glass furnace. IEC evaluated the economics of developing a steam turbine generator (STG) facility powered by a waste heat boiler, which would be heated using the high temperature flue gas stream.
