Silicon Valley Power Wind Site Evaluation

IEC was contracted to conduct an evaluation of a possible wind site for Silicon Valley Power (SVP).

CLIENT:

SILICON VALLEY POWER

Silicon Valley Power (SVP) contracted IEC to conduct an evaluation of a possible wind site. The evaluation was based on determining the wind production potential of approximately 2,000 acres of land owned by SVP. The evaluation used wind data provided by SVP to calculate the wind energy production capabilities of the site based on the use of up to three (3) different types of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs). The WTGs used in the evaluation are commercially available units that will maximize the use of the land. IEC delivered a report, which included a brief summary of findings followed by preliminary turbine siting maps for each option, calculations showing gross and net production for each option and reference wind data.
