To assist SMUD in the preparation for Phase 3 of the Solano Wind Project, IEC was tasked with working directly with District and CAISO staff to develop the project transmission study. IEC worked with SMUD’s Project Manager to gather the required technical data from vendors and developed conceptual technical requirements for the design of the required substation and wind project, including basic equipment lists and ratings. IEC also determined possible substation locations and interconnection configurations and then developed a list of typical electrical features, systems, and ratings for a wind project of this size.
